• Title: Organic Chemist
€¢ Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire (own transport preferred)
€¢ Salary: £27k - £33k (depending on experience)
€¢ PhD / MSc in Organic Chemistry a strong advantage
€¢ HPLC, LC-MS and NMR experience essential, as well as other techniques
Summary
A knowledgeable and intelligent Organic Chemist with experience in method / process transfer and development is required to join one of the Pharmaceutical leaders in API Development & Manufacturing.
The Company
A state-of-the-art facility devoted to the production and development of APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) for use in new drug products. The company employs around 90 staff and prides itself on the positive working environment, ongoing training and good salaries on offer.
The Role
Using your broad organic chemistry background to the full, you will play a major role in supporting the transfer of processes to the pilot plant and preparing for lab-based GMP projects. The company provides services to a number of Pharmaceutical clients, meaning there are always ongoing projects involving the SOP-compliant transfer of methods, the completion of technical documentation and troubleshooting problems with assays.
Experience
The successful candidate must have a strong degree (ideally a higher degree / PhD / MSc) in Organic Chemistry (or a related discipline), together with some experience of GMP-compliant pilot scale manufacturing, technical transfer and method development. You must be familiar with the use of online literature research tools, with an ability to quickly assimilate new information, and you must be competent in HPLC, NMR and LC-MS, along with other techniques.
