Maintenance Electrician - Egham - Surrey

The Maintenance Electrician will play an important role in maintaining the buildings, equipment and site services. He/she will be expected to diversify to other areas of maintenance dependent on the needs of the company
Main Responsibilities:
Installation of electrical equipment and circuits.
Fault finding and repairing of electrical equipment and circuits.
Carry out full testing of electrical equipment in accordance with current IEE Regulations.
Carry out Portable Appliance Testing when required.
Make the Manager/Supervisor aware of any alterations required to upgrade existing equipment, to comply with current regulations.
Liaise with sub contracted maintenance companies regarding school equipment.
Work in accordance with P P M programme and record all works accordingly.
Ensure general equipment supplies are maintained at an adequate level as agreed with Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
Make themselves aware of any Risk Assessments associated with their tasks
Carry out visual inspection of all tools prior to use.
Ensure all work is carried out in a competent and cost effective manner and to the required quality level.
Provide immediate assistance (including outside of normal working hours) in case of Emergencies.
Effective communication with all external and internal customers.
Ensure Personnel Protective Equipment is worn at all times when carrying out tasks.
Any other duties requested by the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
These are the general duties of the post; however the post holder will be expected to assist in other duties within the department as necessary, in particular, at times of heavy workload, sickness and staff absences.
Education & Experience: Trade qualified person trained to City & Guilds level or equivalent, with at least 5 years working experience within the relevant trade. Basic knowledge of various building maintenance trades will be required.
Personal Qualities: Ability to work as part of a team, as well as working autonomously. Good customer service skills in dealing with a wide range of individuals at varying levels. Be a good communicator. Have a firm but fair attitude to working practises.
Based at the Egham working 5 days out of 7. Occasional need to work weekends in peak periods
