The Company
A leading Medical Communications Agency, working with large Pharmaceutical companies in a wide range of therapeutic areas, including infertility, metabolic disorders, cardiovascular and genetic diseases. The company is a long-established client of ours, priding themselves on their staff development and training strategies, together with a genuinely supportive and buzzing work environment. It is a very exciting time for them at the moment, due to a recent merger with a leading American company.
You will be based at a spacious, welcoming site just outside of the centre of Oxford, which has excellent transport links to a variety of locations. The company recognises the need for a good work-life balance and is open to individual circumstances, with the ability for experienced Writers to work from home or on a flexible-hours basis.
The Role
As an experienced Medical Writer, you will be responsible for undertaking a wide variety of projects, covering a number of diverse therapeutic areas. You will produce high-quality, creative scientific copy for a wide variety of medical communications products, using media such as manuscripts, posters, slide kits, product monographs, websites/web-based applications, and other technology-based platforms.
Client liaison and project management are key features of this position. You will work closely with the twin company in the USA (via teleconferences) in order to provide a 24-hour client service and build strong rapport with your internal and external colleagues.

Experience
The successful applicant will be educated to a higher level in a life science discipline (PhD preferred), with some experience of writing for a Medical Communications company or a scientific publishing organisation.
With excellent attention to detail, you must be able to write clearly and creatively, demonstrating broad medical knowledge, good attention to detail and strong grammar. You must be proactive in tracking projects and chasing comments from clients, authors or speakers, as there will be a strong emphasis on building rapport with clients and key opinion leaders (KOLs), in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
