PURPOSE OF ROLE

To provide an Architectural Design and Technical service for the Partnership through involvement in all RIBA stages of medium projects from inception (stage A) through to completion and feedback (stages L and M) and to work under the supervision of architectural director on larger scale projects, including all work areas identified within the RIBA outline plan of work stages, whilst providing a quality and timely service to clients. To maintain an element of self generated business and begin to play a role in managing the office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Using technical knowledge of various software programmes to create detailed 2D and 3D drawing for use during the project design and construction development;
Application of CAD techniques such as surface modelling and solid modelling;
The collection, organisations and investigator of technical information for use during the projects development;
Contributing to the detailed design process and co-ordinating detailed design information;

You may be required to carry out further duties on an ad hoc basis as and when required
Person Requirements
Knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD 2008 (both full and LT versions), Architectural Desktop, 3D Studio Max, Sketchup, Photoshop, Rpvit.

Integral part of Architectural Team;
A Knowledge of the practical use of building construction principles;
Good numeracy and computer literacy skills;
Good communication skills both written and oral to enable liaison with Design and Construction Teams;
An appreciation of construction material properties
An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods;
Good problem solving skills;
Creative flair;
The ability to work as apart of a team and to project deadlines and programmes
Desirable
City and Guilds Certificate in 2D and 3D computer Aided Design, Level 2 and Level 3
Knowledge and understanding of construction processes and methods
